As a result of this you have healthy competition, better price, and you are not dependent on one party. This way the buyer also doesn’t get stuck and also gets more variety. Also when there are two or more sources for a product, it becomes easy for a buyer to compare them and get exactly what he has asked for and if there’s a problem then the middle man (agent, or buying house or merchant exporter) is responsible for it. The buyer may be paying x amount of commission to the agent but he is assured of the best quality and prices at the most competitive rates.
